Proofpoint filters emails into categories like Low Priority and Quarantined, which go to separate folders in your inbox. (Figure A)
- Low Priority Inbox - contains messages that have been classified as bulk email and are sent to multiple contacts that you may not want in your main inbox (newsletters, membership requests, etc)
- Quarantined - contains messages that have been classified as suspicious and must further be inspected by Proofpoint (no user action is required)
If you want an email from the Low Priority folder to go to your main inbox, or vice versa, you can move it manually or use the Email Feedback option in Outlook. (Figure B) This helps you manage where emails from specific senders end up.
Results from redirecting your email:
- Inbox - moves the message to this folder and future messages from this sender will automatically be placed here
- Low Priority Inbox - moves the message to this folder and future messages from this sender will automatically be placed here
- Delete and Block Sender - deletes the message and future messages from this sender
It's a good practice to regularly check your Low Priority Inbox folder to ensure that important emails are not mistakenly moved there.
