How to Export a Bb Course

Follow this video guide or these steps to save a fully built course for use in future semesters.

1. Within your Bb course, click on the Packages and Utilities section of the Control Panel.

2. Then click on Export/Archive Course.

3. Click on the Export Package button.

4. Keep the default settings under the File Attachments section and click the Select All button in the Select Course Materials area (even if you didn’t use every item listed).

a. Uncheck the box for Settings.

5. Then click Submit (you will receive an email once the export process has completed).

6. Finally, you need to save the file: click the Refresh button to display the compressed (.zip) export file.

7. Right-click on the file name and choose Save Target As or Save Link As.

8. Save this file in a location on your computer or a back-up USB drive.

9. DO NOT ever try to open this file through your computer, it is strictly saved for future importing and opening the file will corrupt the data.

How to Import a Bb Course

Follow this import video or these steps to load a previously saved course into a new Bb shell.

1. Within your Bb course, click on the Packages and Utilities section of the Control Panel.

2. Then click on Import Package/View Logs.

3. Click the Import Package button.

4. Under the Select a Package area, click on the Browse My Computer button and then select your exported course file (the .zip file you exported and saved from a previous course).

5. Click the Select All button in the Select Course Materials area (then scroll down and "uncheck" the Settings box).

6. Finally, click the Submit button (you will receive an email once the import process has completed).

7. If the email you receive indicates that there was errors during the import you can access the log of the import from the Import Package/View Logs page.
