▸Unlock/Login/Hotdesk Instructions
- Hit Hotdesk
- If the phone screen is black, hit the silver circle button to wake your phone up
- Enter your 5 digit extension
- Hit Enter
- Enter your Pin
- Default pin is your 5 digit extension unless you've set up your VM which would override the default
- If the 5 digit extension does not work and you do not remember your VM Pin please submit an IT Service Request seeking a PIN reset.
- Hit Enter

- Choose Log out
- If the phone screen is black, hit the silver circle button to wake your phone up
- Choose Log out again
▸How do I Set up my Voicemail for the First Time?
- Press the voicemail button on your phone
- You will be prompted to enter your passcode (the default passcode is your 5 digit extension #)
- The Voicemail System will walk you through a tutorial on how to setup your voicemail box the first time
- If you want to run the tutorial again you can press 8 for User Options and 8 again for Tutorial

▸How do I Set or Change my Out-of-Office Voicemail?
To set/change your out of office voicemail while in the office do the following.
- Press the voicemail button
- You will be prompted to enter your passcode (the default passcode is your extension #)
- Your new and current messages will play first. If you want to skip through these, you can keep pressing 5 to keep the messages
- You should receive a message saying that was your last message when you are done
- Press 8 for user options
- Press 4 to change your extended absence greeting
- Press 7 to record, press 5 to listen to it, or press 3 to enable it
After pressing 3, your extended absence greeting will be set. To change back to your standard greeting, go through this process again.
To set/change your out of office voicemail while you are away from your office, do the following.
- Call your desk number and wait for your voicemail to pick up
- Press * to get to the passcode prompt
- You will be prompted to enter your passcode (the default passcode is your extension #)
- Your new and current messages will play first. If you want to skip through these, you can keep pressing 5 to keep the messages.
- You should receive a message saying that was your last message when you are done.
- Press 8 for user options
- Press 4 to change your extended absence greeting
- Press 7 to record, press 5 to listen to it, or press 3 to enable it

▸How do I Forward my Mitel Office Extension to a Different Phone?
- Press the settings button on your phone
- Scroll using the navigation key (the round silver key on your Mitel phone) until you get to Call Forward

- Choose the Select soft key
- Enter a phone number to where your Mitel office calls will be forwarded
- If you want to forward to another extension just enter the 5 digit extension (ie 71234)
- If you want to forward it to an external phone number be sure to enter 91 followed by the 10 digit phone number including extension (ie 919891234567)
NOTE: If there is already a number entered in this field you will have to select backspace to clear the number out of the Always field
- Once you have the number entered press the save soft key at the bottom of the screen
- To enable the call forward, press the right side of the navigation key (the round silver key on your Mitel phone) to select the checkmark box
- Press the center button of the navigation key (the round silver key on your Mitel phone) to enable it
- Press the Save soft key
To disable the forwarding, just remove the checkbox next to the phone number and press the Save soft key

▸Why is My Desk Not Ringing and Going Directly to Voicemail When Someone Calls? (Turn Off Do Not Disturb - DnD)
When DND is enabled on the Mitel phone, callers calling into the phone hear a busy signal or get sent directly to voicemail, depending on the phone's configuration. If you see The Do Not Disturb (DND) icon on the status bar located at the top of your phone's home screen then the DND feature is enabled.

To disable please follow the steps below:
- Press the right side of the navigation key (the round silver key on your Mitel phone)
- Press the DND soft key (second from the top)
- The red DND icon will disappear from the top of your phone status bar and the DND label will grey out
- Press the left side of the navigation key (the round silver key on your Mitel phone) to return to the phone's main menu
- You should start receiving phone calls again

▸Why Am I Getting a NuPoint Accounting Settings Pop-Up?
If you recently changed your Mitel mailbox passcode, you will need to update the Account Settings box that will automatically appear. Enter your credentials to ensure that you will continue receiving voicemails into your Outlook email inbox by following the directions below.
- In the NuPoint Server field, enter micollab.northwood.edu
- In the Mailbox field, enter your Mitel phone extension (Help Desk example: 74421)
- In the Passcode field, enter your updated Mitel voice mailbox passcode
- Click Test connection. If the passcode is correct a green checkmark will appear.
- Click OK
If you do not get a green checkmark and continue receiving a red X please contact the IT Help Desk and request a Mitel passcode reset.
