Kaltura MediaSpace (My Media), available to all Northwood University students, staff and faculty, simplifies the creation of videos and rich media content, even without specialized equipment. Kaltura offers an intuitive interface with a user-friendly experience and interactive viewing. This facilitates effortless personal video creation on campus, in the office, at home, or while on-the-go.

Create a video recording

Using Blackboard to record video (Option 1)

Log in to my.northwood.edu
Select My Courses/Orgs from the tabs on the top right
Click the My Media towards the bottom of the page (if you do not see this button use Option 2 below)
Click on Add New
Choose Express Capture to record a video
- Once finished recording, choose Use This, and select My Media in the drop down to share and publish your video

Using Kaltura's website to record video (Option 2)

Go to northwood.mediaspace.kaltura.com
Click on the icon that looks like a head on the right side of the screen
Select Login
Enter your Northwood credentials
Click Create
Select Express Capture to record a video
- Once finished recording, choose Use This, and select My Media in the drop down to share and publish your video

Go to northwood.mediaspace.kaltura.com
Click on the head icon on the right
Click My Media
- Login using your Northwood credentials (if you aren't already)
Click the desired video
Click the Share button under the video preview
Copy the URL from the "Link to Media Page" field
Paste the link to share the video

Note: Videos with "Private" settings cannot be shared via link; only "Unlisted" or "Published" videos can be shared with others. You can check your video's Publish setting under the Actions drop-down menu on the video's page.

Submit video to course thread, assignment, etc...

Go to the create thread, reply, assignment or other area you are attempting to add your Kaltura Video
In the text editor, use the ellipis icon to expand the text editor's option
Select the + option to open Add Content window
From the Add Content window select Kaltura Media Submission
Select the video you would like to add to the text editor and click the Embed button
After being redirected to the text editor page, finish adding any content and click Submit
