How do I VPN into the Northwood network while off-campus?

▸Using a Northwood-Owned Computer

Make sure you're off campus and have internet (WiFi or Ethernet)
- You should only be using VPN to access programs like Perceptive Content, Colleague, Share Drives or changing your NU password if not on-campus
Open FortiClient VPN from the Start Menu
Choose SAML Login
- If this option isn't visible and it shows "Register with Zero Trust," enter ems.northwood.edu, select Connect, and you should then see the SAML Login option
Enter your Northwood email (i.e. username@northwood.edu) and password
Use your chosen Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) method, or choose Sign in another way for a different verification method
- Disregard the Don’t ask again for 90 days box, you will be prompted every time to enter a verification code
Accept Northwood's AUP
- When connected, a yellow lock icon appears.

To disconnect, right-click the blue FortiClient icon in the system tray and pick Disconnect from Northwood VPN

▸Using a Personally-Owned Computer

▸I'm an Employee

Ensure that your Northwood-owned, on-campus, device is powered on and has surpassed the initial PGP screen
Launch a web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Navigate to vpn0.northwood.edu
Click Single Sign-On
Enter your Northwood email address(i.e. username@northwood.edu) and password
Provide the code from your Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) method
Click Login
From the bookmarks, select the name of your NU-owned computer.
- If your NU-owned computer's name isn't visible, please submit a Network Service Request for VPN
Re-enter your Northwood Email Address and Password
Click Login
- Please note that multi-monitors are not currently supported

To disconnect, close the browser with the remote session or sign out of your account on the remote session.

**Your VPN session will timeout if left inactive for 5 minutes.

▸I'm a Vendor

Ensure that your Northwood-owned, on-campus, device is powered on and has surpassed the initial PGP screen
Launch a web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Navigate to vpn0.northwood.edu
Click Single Sign-On
Enter your Northwood email address (i.e. username@northwood.edu) and password
- If More information required page appears
  - Select Skip setup
  - Select Next
From the bookmarks, select the name of your NU-owned computer.
- If your NU-owned computer's name isn't visible, please submit a Network Service Request for VPN
Re-enter your Northwood Email Address and Password
Click Login
- Please note that multi-monitors are not currently supported

To disconnect, close the browser with the remote session or sign out of your account on the remote session.

**Your VPN session will timeout if left inactive for 5 minutes.
