How do I order toner or ink replacement for my printer?

It's simple...you don't! Northwood uses a Print Management Service which monitors your printer usage and utilizes thresholds and algorithms to determine when new toner needs to automatically be re-ordered.

  • Toner is managed and reordered by the third-party Print Management Service, not the IT Help Desk.
  • Once it arrives on campus, the Mailroom will automatically deliver the toner to the printer’s location.
  • The shipping label will display LOCATION – PRINTER NAME – IP ADDRESS (for example: CFAB – CFABACAD2 – 11.1.XX.XX).
  • When the toner arrives, please notify your coworkers.
  • Store the toner in a safe, accessible place and do not open it until your printer indicates it needs replacement.
  • This just-in-time delivery strategy eliminates the need for staff to monitor inventory or place orders, preventing printer downtime due to supply shortages and reducing costs by avoiding excess inventory.

All Northwood owned printers, on campus, have a label that includes the printer name, serial number, IP address, and how to map the printer. These labels will help identify the printer for toner refill purposes and when you call the Help Desk requesting printer assistance.
