Why can't I log in to my.northwood.edu (Blackboard)?

To access a northwood.edu account, you must be currently enrolled in classes or have graduated from the university.

If you see a blank page or "unable to load adfs.northwood.edu" after clicking the Northwood Login button, follow these steps:

  1. Verify you can access the IT Help Desk Client Portal
  2. If not, your work network/computer might be blocking our authentication system--contact your employer's IT personnel

If you see a "Sign On Error!" message when signing into my.northwood.edu, follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://logout.northwood.edu
  2. Go to https://my.northwood.edu and click NU Portal Login
  3. If the issue persists, clear your browser's cache
  4. After clearing your Browser's cache completely exit your Browser and restart your device

If you see a "Sign On Error!" message when signing into my.northwood.edu, follow these steps:

  1. In Edge, expand the Profile menu, circled in red

  2. In the Profile menu, expand the Other Profiles menu

  3. From the Other Profiles menu, click “Browse as guest”

  4. A new window will open for the Guest profile. In this new window go to https://portal.northwood.edu to login to the Northwood Portal.
  5. After logging in to the portal try accessing the Blackboard system again. If you are still receiving an error after this please contact the IT Help Desk, helpdesk@northwood.edu
