The User Options menus in Student Self-Service allow you to authorize another person access to your online academic, student finance, financial aid and/or tax information.

How do I authorize someone to view online and discuss my academic, student finance, financial aid and/or tax information with Northwood staff?
- Log in to My.northwod.edu, click the Self-Service link.
- Click your username in the top right to view the Options menu
- Click the View/Add Proxy Access link
- Click the Select a Proxy drop down menu
- If the person is listed in the drop down, select the name.
- If the person is not listed in the drop down you will need to add a Person Proxy to your account, see question "How do I add a Person Proxy to my account?"
- Complete the Add a Proxy form.
- Northwood University recommends allowing complete access to Student Finance and Financial Aid sections in order to provide the most accurate financial information.
- Your new proxy (person you have just authorized) will receive an email confirmation from helpdesk@northwood.edu with login information
How do I add a Person Proxy to my account?
If the person you wish to authorize is not listed in the Select a Proxy drop down menu, you may add them to your account
- Login to My.northwood.edu, click the Self-Service link
- Click your username in the top right to view the Options menu
- Click the Add Person Proxy link
- Complete the Add Person Proxy form with the information of the person you are adding
- Click the Submit button when finished
- Finance and Accounting Services will add the person to your proxy list within 2 business days.
- Next, complete the process to authorize the person on your account. See question "How do I authorize someone to view online and discuss my academic, student finance, financial aid, and/or tax information with Northwood staff?"
How do I update a Person Proxy email address?
If there's an error in the entered proxy email address, you should send an email using your Northwood University account to the Business Office (mibusoff@northwood.edu), informing them of the mistake and requesting an update.
