How do I add, delete or change my Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) security methods?

Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) allows users to reset their own password and unlock their account without contacting the Northwood University IT Help Desk. Every 180 days you will need to verify your registration information. On day 180, when accessing an online Northwood University software or system, you will be prompted to verify that security methods are up-to-date. 

  1. Visit http://methods.northwood.edu
  2. Sign in using your Northwood Credentials (if you haven't already signed in)
  3. Locate the Security Method you would like to change or edit
  4. Click Delete
  5. Click Ok
  6. Your security method will now be removed from your Security Info list
  1. Visit http://methods.northwood.edu
  2. Sign in using your Northwood Credentials (if you haven't already signed in)
  3. Locate the Security Method you would like to change or edit
  4. Click Change
  5. Follow the prompts to edit your security method
  6. Your security method will now be updated in your Security Info list
  1. Visit http://methods.northwood.edu
  2. Sign in using your Northwood Credentials (if you haven't already signed in)
  3. Your default sign-in method will show under the Security info section
  4. Choose Change
  5. Select the method from the dropdown list that you prefer be the default to verify your account 
  6. Click Confirm
  7. Your default sign-in method will now be updated under your Security Info list
